If you still haven't had enough of winter and would like to do some fantastic spring skiing, look no further than northeast Oregon. Ski Anthony Lakes, a family oriented ski area situated high in the Elkhorn Ridge of the Blue Mountains, has received lots of fresh snow over the last several days. The ski area has extended its season and will be open Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 4 -19. As they say, "If there is 'pow', we stay open!"

At 7,100 feet, Ski Anthony Lakes has the highest base level of any ski resort in Oregon. It is known for powder snow, short lift lines, and outstanding scenery. The resort is a scenic drive of less than an hour southwest of La Grande. Take Interstate 84 to North Powder, exit 285, and follow the signs west and up! Go to www.anthonylakes.com for more info and photos. For lodging information for La Grande, North Powder and Union, go to www.visitlagrande.com. Plan to check out the new microbrewery in downtown La Grande, Mt. Emily Ale House.
