Steelhead fishing along a magnificent Wild & Scenic river has always been thrilling for outdoor recreation fans. Now there is a whole new experience to be enjoyed along the Wallowa River in northeast Oregon. Fishermen and women can ride a train into the roadless section of the river canyon, stepping off the train at proven fishing holes all along an eight mile stretch of rocks and riffles. 2009 is the sixth year of the Steelhead Fishing, a.k.a. the Fish Train and the number of fishermen continues to grow, both new and repeat passengers. Learn all about the adventure and the incredible setting by going to www.minammotel.com and clicking on the swimming fish. Don’t delay in booking your seat – there are only seven weekends in which to enjoy the service and seats are very limited to ensure a quality experience. Sightseeing passengers are also welcome. Bookings are available for full and half days, Saturdays ($75 adult full day) and Sundays ($65, adult full day), February 10 through March. Youth under 14 are just $15, either day. Lunch and expert advice included in the ticket price! Half-day tickets for sightseers are also available for $30 for adults and $10 for youth; lunch not included.
